Regarding NHTSA Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 17,
2000) - Our deepest sympathies
go out to the friends and families of those who died in these
accidents reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration.
We are working around the clock in
our efforts to complete the recall in November and to finding
the root cause of the tire problem.
We’ll be working with NHTSA to
review and analyze today’s newly released information.
Additionally, as the agency’s release indicated: “Some
of the complaints and injuries may be duplicate reports.”
