statement is a clarification of our September 1, 2000, statement
concerning NHTSA's consumer advisory.
Please note that
the company has not made a decision about adding to the voluntary
safety recall.
If you have tires
listed on the NHTSA
consumer advisory dated September 1, 2000, it is our sincere
desire to address any concerns you may have through a free
inspection to be performed at our Firestone Tire and Service
Centers or authorized Bridgestone/Firestone participating
retailers. If the tires are subject to our Bridgestone/Firestone
warranty program, the tires will be adjusted and processed
accordingly. (Note:

This is a customer
satisfaction program to address our customer's concern due
to the announcement by NHTSA on September 1.
